A week of hand-size analysis, 40-yard dashes and amateur psychological evaluations at the NFL combine boded well for the majority of Big Ten participants, a good showing for the headliners and some names the casual fan may not know so well.
Ohio State and Michigan State were easily the most represented Big Ten schools at the NFL combine in Indianapolis this past week. The Spartans sent a school-record seven former players. The Buckeyes sent a combine-record 14 former players. While the top prospects largely helped their stock in front of the pro scouts during the last five days, it was a list of mostly not-so-household names that posted the conference’s top result in each of the event’s seven feats of strength and speed.
