NEW YORK – Xavier guard Paul Scruggs has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Scruggs led the unbeaten Musketeers to a buzzer-beating victory against Marquette. St. John’s guard Posh Alexander has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week after helping the Johnnies to a 1-1 week.

Paul Scruggs, Xavier, G, Sr. – Scruggs was the top performer in Xavier’s 91-88 victory against Marquette. The senior scored a game-high 29 points and had six assists, four rebounds and three steals. He made 5-of-8 from 3-point range.
