NEW YORK – Xavier junior Anna Kostarellis and Gerogetown graduate student Nick Wareham have been named BIG EAST Female and Male Athletes of the Week, respectively, in Cross Country. Kostarellis won the Louisville Classic and Wareham had a strong performance at the Joe Piane Invitational.
BIG EAST Male Athlete of the Week
Nick Wareham, Georgetown, Gr. – Against a 22-team field that included 13 teams nationally ranked or receiving votes, Wareham ran a time of 24:06.80 in the 5-mile race at the Joe Piane Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind. He finished 35th individually and helped the Hoya men to an 11th-place team finish.
