Following their conference-opening win against Providence, the Xavier Musketeers hit the road and looked to pick up a victory over the Georgetown Hoyas in Washington DC on Saturday afternoon. The Hoyas, on the other hand, looked to get in the win column following their loss to Marquette on Wednesday evening. Georgetown will have to continue to wait, though, as Xavier pulled off an 81-76 victory at the Verizon Center.
Xavier guard Edmond Sumner had a career-best 28 points to go along with a season-high eight rebounds and six assists. He also went 14-17 from the free throw line.
