Top-Seed UConn Wins Ninth Consecutive #BIGEASTfh Title

Conshohocken, Pa. – No. 1 seed Connecticut won its ninth straight BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship title with a 2-0 victory over No. 3 seed Old Dominion on Saturday. The Huskies will receive the Conference’s automatic berth to the NCAA tournament. This year’s BIG EAST Championship Presented by JEEP was held at The Proving Grounds in Conshohocken, Pa.

The eventual game-winner was scored in the first two minutes of play by UConn sophomore Erica Solomen. Freshman Aiyi Young scored the second goal in the 28th minute, scoring of a rebounded save after the initial shot off a corner.
