NEW YORK – With two weekend victories against Xavier, Creighton earned the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Division and will face the No. 2 seed in the East Division, Providence in the upcoming BIG EAST Championship Presented by JEEP. The East Division’s No. 1 seed, St. John’s, will face Marquette, the No. 2 seed in the Midwest.
Providence swept Villanova this weekend with two five-set match wins on Friday and Saturday to finish 7-3 overall and 5-3 in the East Division. It is the first BIG EAST tournament appearance for the Friars since 1999.
