NEW YORK – St. John’s Julian Champagnie has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Connecticut forward Adama Sanogo has been selected BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Both players helped their respective teams to 2-0 weeks in the final week of the regular season.

Julian Champagnie, St. John’s, G-F, So. – Champagnie averaged 19.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals in a pair of victories. In Saturday’s season finale, the sophomore scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds in an 81-71 comeback victory over Seton Hall.
