ESPN’s Darren Rovell reported Friday night that Marquette is one of three schools that North Carolina warned about the very same thing UNC was sanctioned for earlier this week — players selling shoes!
The humanity!
MU Wire’s John Steppe noted the school is investigating and will be releasing a statement.
Look, it’s really hard to get mad about this sort of thing. Players are woefully underpaid as it is, and if they want to sell something that is technically their personal property, so be it. It’s hard to imagine the NCAA doing too much about this, especially since Marquette self-reported and is self-investigating.
