Providence vs. Boston College: Eagles defeat Friars with strong second half

Every year since 2009, the home team has won the annual Boston College/Providence game. While some were expecting that to possibly change this season, it didn’t. The Eagles defeated the Friars, 79-67, at Conte Forum on Friday afternoon.

The game was a back-and-forth battle for much of the first half, with Providence heading into the locker room boasting a four-point lead. After the break, however, was a different story as Boston College went on a 27-8 run over an 8:22 stretch to give them a 20 point lead. Providence went on a 14-0 run of its own with just four minutes to play, but it proved to be too little too late, as the Friars never got closer than six points.
