Providence looks to bounce back against Charleston

Throughout Ed Cooley’s tenure as head coach of the Providence Friars, he’s only lost three straight nonconference games once, coming five years ago when the Friars fell to Kentucky, Boston College, and Brown in three straight contests.

To avoid having the dubious history repeat itself, Providence will need to get back on track Friday afternoon against the Charleston Cougars in their second game of the Wooden Legacy. The Friars desperately need to get Thursday’s bitter taste out of their mouths as they fell 66-65 to Long Beach State and didn’t make a field goal over the final seven minutes of the game.
