Pittsburgh hires Georgetown assistant coach Kevin Sutton

Pittsburgh and Georgetown used to be conference foes when the Panthers were part of the Big East from 1982-2013.

With the Panthers in the ACC and Hoyas still in the Big East, the ties have thinned dramatically. But, after the news that came across the wire on Wednesday, Pitt and Georgetown are once again connected.

According to ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Goodman, assistant coach Kevin Sutton is trekking from Washington D.C. to the Steel City, having agreed to join the coaching staff of new Panthers head coach Kevin Stallings. Sutton had previously been a part of GU's staff since June of 2013 when he jumped from coaching with the George Washington Colonials.
