No. 2 Marquette Advances To BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Final With 14-9 Win Over No. 3 Villanova

DENVER – No. 2 seed Marquette got their first BIG EAST tournament win on Thursday with a 14-9 victory over third-seeded Villanova. Ranked No. 19/19 nationally, the Golden Eagles were led by four goals from junior midfielder Ryan McNamara and a hat trick from junior mid Andy DeMichiei.

Marquette (10-4) had appeared in two prior BIG EAST tournaments, but this was the first time they will get a chance to play for the Championship title, presented by Jeep, Saturday afternoon at Denver’s Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
