Three league games and one non-conference contest on Wednesday created plenty of news.
Villanova, the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, played the league's final non-conference game and recorded an 83-67 win at Temple. Freshman Jalen Brunson, playing at his father's alma mater, scored a collegiate-high 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the floor in front of a record crowd of 10,472 at Temple's Liacouras Center. It was Villanova's 14th straight win in the Philadelphia Big Five series.
Xavier's Myles Davis produced a triple-double of 11 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists in an 85-74 win over visiting Providence.
