On Thursday, St. John’s rallied in the final minutes to upend No. 13 Butler 76-73 at Carnesecca Arena. Shamorie Ponds scored 19 of his game-high 26 points in the second half. Bashir Ahmed added 19 points. Tyler Wideman scored a career-high 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting for Butler. It’s St. John’s top win over a ranked foe since a victory over No. 13 Syracuse in 1982-83.
