Georgetown has a six-game winning streak heading into conference play after Thursday’s 78-56 victory over UNC-Greensboro. Jesse Govan was the catalyst, registering 20 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and four blocked shots. L.J. Peak and Marcus Derrickson added 16 and 15 points, respectively. The Hoyas open BIG EAST competition at Marquette on Dec. 28.
DePaul, the only other BIG EAST team in action on Thursday, was a victim of sub-par shooting, making a season-low 28.2 percent in a 72-58 loss to Wyoming in the Las Vegas Invitational. Tre’Darius McCallum led the Blue Demons with 18 points and six rebounds.
