In the first day of competition in the BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle, DePaul continued to be one of the nation’s surprise stories with a 65-60 defeat of Texas Tech in overtime at Wintrust Arena. The Blue Demons improved to 9-0.
BIG EAST teams won all five of their Wednesday contests and have a combined record of 66-18 (.786).
DePaul trailed 50-44 with 3:19 left in regulation, before rallying. Jalen Coleman-Lands forced the extra period with a 3-pointer with 11 seconds remaining. He then scored eight of his team’s 12 points in overtime and finished with 18 points.
