A 3-1 record for BIG EAST teams on Wednesday included Creighton and Seton Hall recording victories in the Gavitt Tipoff Games.
Creighton won on the road, defeating No. 20 Northwestern 92-88. Khyri Thomas posted 24 points and 11 rebounds and Martin Krampelj added 17 points. The Bluejays shot 51.5 percent from the floor, including 8-of-16 from 3-point range. Creighton never trailed, but held off several rallies, leading by no more than five points over the final eight minutes. The win was the first this season in college basketball by an unranked team over a ranked squad.
Seton Hall used a strong second half and pulled away from Indiana in an 84-68 victory at Prudential Center.
