Creighton got 61 points from the guard trio of Mitch Ballock, Ty-Shon Alexander and Marcus Zegarowski in a 92-75 victory against Marquette in the conference opener for both teams before 17,289 at the CHI Health Center.
Ballock was the game’s scoring leader with 24 points, which included 5-of-9 from 3-point range. Alexander, who also drew defensive duty on Marquette’s Markus Howard, filled his stat line with 21 points, eight rebounds and a career-high six steals. Zegarowski finished with 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Howard was one of three Marquette players to score 18 points.
