Marquette won a tizzy of a game Saturday afternoon in Queens.
The Golden Eagles escaped a roaring effort from the St. John’s Red Storm, earning a 73-71 victory to start the day of play. The win catapulted Marquette to 8-6 on the season and up to 4-4 in Big East play.
MU held a strong advantage throughout much of the game. They led by as many as 11 and outscored the Red Storm in three out of the four 10-minute segments of the game. The Red Storm were able to get out to a great pace out of the second half, outscoring the Golden Eagles 25-12 in the first 10 minutes.
