Kevin Willard is now in his 10th season as head coach at Seton Hall, the last three as coach to the Pirates’ stellar junior Sandro Mamukelashvili. But ask him to spell his 6-11 forward’s surname, and well, it usually doesn’t go very well.
Coaching is a strong suit for Willard. Spelling? Not so much.
“To be honest at first I thought he knew it,” Mamukelashvili said with a laugh. “I thought he was just playing with me. But the other day (a reporter) posted on Twitter where coach tried to spell my last name.
