Four different Friars (6-3-1, 1-0-0 BIG EAST) scored while Shelby Hogan made six saves as PC topped visiting St. John’s in Saturday night’s BIG EAST opener for both teams. Hannah McNulty’s 17th-minute score, her fifth goal of the season, proved to be the game winner before Chloe Ortolano, Amber Birchwell and Elayna Grillakis tacked on insurance goals. Zsani Kajan took a team-high three shots for St. John’s. The Red Storm (3-7-0, 0-1-0) held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks while the Friars held a 14-8 edge in shots.
