NEW YORK – Xavier and Marquette earn the first league wins of the 2017 season as the Musketeers defeated DePaul in five sets and the Golden Eagles won in straight sets at Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
League play continues on Friday with four matches, eight of the 10 teams playing. Travel partners Xavier and Butler will face off on Saturday

Xavier junior Meredith Klare posted a match-high 28 digs on Wednesday afternoon, leading XU to a five-set win over DePaul. Xavier won its second straight match, improving to 6-8 (1-0 BIG EAST) on the year.
