Johnathan McGriff commits to St. John’s

On Thursday, it was announced that the St. John’s Red Storm landed a commitment from Johnathan McGriff, a 5-foot-9 point guard out of Maryland.

According to 247 Sports, McGriff is a three-star prospect. The Maryland native played at Huntington Prep (W. Va.) after spending a few years at Bishop McNamara (Md.). McGriff is new head coach Mike Anderson’s first ever commit since taking the helm of the program a couple of weeks ago. He is a 2019 commit, and he will be eligible to play this fall.

McGriff stands in at 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds, what he lacks in size, he rapidly makes up for in speed and quickness.
