Howard, Marquette stay hot for eighth straight win

Marquette had one final game on the schedule before heading into Big East play. They were a 31-point favorite against the 1-11 Southern Jaguars. Marquette covered the spread early, taking a 47-15 lead with 3:39 left in the first half. The starters would not play much of the second half as Marquette would finish off the blow out 84-41.

Markus Howard couldn’t miss yet again. Coming off 40 points in the second half against Buffalo, Howard scored 23 of his 26 in the first half. He finished 6-6 from three in 16 minutes. Sam Hauser added 10 points and nine boards in 16 minutes.
