Hackimer Selected As Semifinalist For USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award

NEW YORK – St. John's reliever Thomas Hackimer has been selected as one of 25 semifinalists for the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award, an honor presented annually since 1978 to the top amateur baseball player in the country.

As part of a standout senior campaign, Hackimer became the first reliever to earn BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year honors since 2005 and also earned unanimous first team All-BIG EAST accolades for the second-straight season.

Hackimer finished 7-3 with eight saves and a 1.17 ERA in 28 appearances. The righty racked up 71 strikeouts in 53.
