DePaul played its first game in the new Wintrust Arena in downtown Chicago on Saturday. A crowd of 10,194 attended and watched No. 14 Notre Dame pull away in the second half and record a 72-58 victory against the Blue Demons.
Tre’Darius McCallum and Eli Cain led the Blue Demons in scoring with 14 points each. DePaul committed only four turnovers, but was just 5-of-22 from 3-point range. DePaul was outshot from the floor 47.2 percent to 33.8 percent.
The Sunday schedule begins with Georgetown, the only BIG EAST team yet to play, hosting Jacksonville at noon in Patrick Ewing’s head coaching debut.
