CHICAGO – Top-seeded DePaul concluded Friday’s BIG EAST Softball Championship Presented by Jeep semifinal action by knocking off No. 4 seed Villanova by a score of 12-2. The Blue Demons advance to the BIG EAST title game Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. CT, where they will face the winner of Friday’s second semifinal match between No. 2 Creighton and No. 3 St. John’s. The championship game will be broadcast on FS2 with John Fanta as play-by-play, Dave Bernhard as color analyst and Bob Brainerd as sideline reporter.
Defensively the Blue Demons opened the contest strong with sophomore pitcher Missy Zoch retiring the first three batters she faced.
