Defending National Champion Connecticut Picked As #BIGEASTfh Preseason Favorite

Liberty’s Agueda Moroni and Connecticut’s Amanda Collins were picked as Co-Offensive Players of the Year; Ashley Dykema of Liberty was tabbed as Defensive Player of the Year.

NEW YORK – The defending national champion, and BIG EAST regular-season and tournament champion Connecticut Huskies were tabbed by the BIG EAST field hockey coaches as the preseason favorite in the coaches’ poll released on Thursday by the conference office.

Two Liberty Flames and a Husky garnered the top preseason individual awards. Liberty sophomore defender Ashley Dykema was voted Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, while Connecticut senior forward Amanda Collins and Liberty junior forward Agueda Moroni shared the honor of Preseason Co-Offensive Players of the Year.
