Creighton soared back home and dealt DePaul a hearty 77-53 defeat on Wednesday night.
The win, Creighton’s fourth in a row, props them up to 17-5 on the season and 13-4 in Big East play. They remain players for a share of the Big East regular season championship, and a heavy-hitter matchup between Creighton and the Villanova Wildcats now looms awfully large next Wednesday.
The teams traded blows in the opening moments, and it was DePaul who jumped out to a very early eight-point advantage. But Creighton would eventually storm back and took the lead with 6:40 to go in the first half.
