NEW YORK – Butler's sophomore forward Kelan Martin has been selected BIG EAST Player of the Week and Xavier freshman guard Edmond Sumner has been tabbed BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Both players helped their respective teams to 2-0 weeks. Some of their accomplishments include Martin scoring 35 points in a win over Georgetown and Sumner recording 20 points in a victory against Marquette.
