Despite a career-high 30 points on 12-for-25 shooting by Jasmine Bascoe, to go with eight boards and three steals, the Wildcats came up short Wednesday night against Fairfield. Kylee Watson added 11 points, including five from the free-throw line. Villanova got off to a slow start as Fairfield held the Wildcats to just one point until 3:49 left in the first quarter when Brynn McCurry made the team’s first layup.
