NEW YORK – BIG EAST Senior Associate Commissioner for Sports Media Relations John Paquette was elected as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Third Vice President as approved by the CoSIDA Board in June as part of the #CoSIDA2020 virtual convention.
Paquette has served the BIG EAST Conference for the past 30 years. When the BIG EAST was restructured in 2013, he was one of the first hires by Commissioner Val Ackerman. Similarly in 1990, Paquette was former commissioner Mike Tranghese’s first addition to the league staff. Previous to his role at the conference level, he was the men’s basketball media relations contact for member institution Seton Hall during the 1989 Final Four run.
