The primary fear from Bluejay fans going into this one was the efficacy of Seton Hall’s ability to rebound. Throughout the first half it appeared that these fears were to be quelled, quieted, as the Jays continued to pull down board after board.
Khyri Thomas added to this affair as he managed to grab a rare Creighton offensive rebound and promptly put it into the cylinder.
Past that, the game was nip and tuck throughout the first 15 minutes of the first half, Seton Hall managing to answer any Bluejay run that was offered. The Pirates relied on Carrington and Rodriguez to score, which they did, combining for 21 points in the first half.
