These Are The 6 Best Recruiting Classes In The Big 12 After Early Signing Day

National Signing Day is one of the biggest days in college football, as landing a good class can set a program up for long-term success on the field in the fall. That is certainly the case in the Big 12, as teams across the league hope to set themselves up for success with their 2018 recruiting class. After the Early Signing Period, here are the top 6 classes in the conference right now:

6) West Virginia Mountaineers

West Virginia's class of 21 current commitments includes two four-star prospects in defensive end Dante Stills and safety Kwantel Raines, both of whom were among the 19 signees in this class.

5) Oklahoma State Cowboys

The Cowboys also have two four-star signees in wide receiver C.J. Moore and dual-threat quarterback Spencer Sanders, but rank about West Virginia because they have one more three-star commit. All 22 of those commitments have already signed.

4) Baylor Bears

Despite the on-field struggles this season, Matt Rhule has done an excellent job with this recruiting class that ranks No. 23 in the country. Four four-star prospects have played a major role in that, headlined by quarterback Gerry Bohanon - who is expected to see the field sooner rather than later.

3) TCU Horned Frogs

TCU's top 20 class is headlined by four-star quarterback Justin Rogers, who is the No. 35 overall prospect in the country. That position will be his in the next year or two and is one of four top 300 prospects in the class.

2) Oklahoma Sooners

The Sooners have the No. 9 overall recruiting class in the country despite not having a single five-star commit as of yet because they have nine four-star pledges, including three ranked in the top 100 and six in the top 200. Offensive tackle Brey Walker, the No. 29 overall prospect at 6-foot-7 and 320 pounds, is the headliner.

1) Texas Longhorns

Head coach Tom Herman has been incredibly successful in his first full recruiting cycle, bringing in the No. 3 class in the entire country. Safety B.J. Foster is the only five-star prospect currently committed to a Big 12 school and is one of five top 50 prospects that will be playing for the Longhorns next season.
