West Virginia's confidence keeps growing during 13-2 run

AUSTIN, Texas -- Shelton Gibson predicted chaos was coming.

The West Virginia wide receiver said it was time for the College Football Playoff committee to start taking his 8-1 squad seriously. He said he was planning to watch a lot of football Saturday night during his team's flight back to Morgantown. He seemed to have a hunch.

"They're going to have to look at us," he said. "A lot of things can happen in college football. A lot of stuff can happen tonight."

Clemson, Washington and Michigan all fell a few hours later. They opened the door, if only just a crack, for the Big 12's champion to get back in the playoff picture.
