Washington, Westbrook give Bedlam a matchup of the nation's best receivers

NORMAN, Okla. -- The prowess of Bedlam wideouts James Washington and Dede Westbrook began with similarly country Texas upbringings.

Westbrook says his inexplicable ability to change directions on the spot comes from a childhood in Cameron (population 5,770) spent playing "rock wars," where dodging incoming stones was paramount.

Washington notes his propensity to sky gracefully through the air derives from his younger days in Stamford (population 3,124), where he'd leap the fence enclosing the basketball court across from his house multiple times in a day.

This Saturday, Washington and the Cowboys will meet Westbrook and the Sooners in a Bedlam showdown that will not only decide the Big 12 championship, but will offer several tantalizing matchups.
