Vikings notes: Peterson ‘fine’ but held out

Adrian Peterson and his coaches expressed little concern for a thigh bruise that held him out of practice Wednesday. Plus, notes from practice, including numerous interceptions and other injury updates.

The Minnesota Vikings fan base had a bit of a scare Tuesday when running back Adrian Peterson went down in practice. He was carrying the ball up the middle of the field when one of his teammates’ knees caught the back of his thigh, but he said Wednesday he would play this weekend if it were the regular season.

“Coach (Mike) Zimmer obviously gives the injury reports, but I talked to (head athletic trainer) Eric Sugarman,” offensive coordinator Norv Turner said.
