The redemption of Oklahoma's Mike Stoops

NORMAN, Okla. -- During the third quarter of the Baylor game last year, Oklahoma fans couldn’t hold their discontent inside any longer. And once the Bears carved up the Sooners for another touchdown, boos reverberated down the Owen Field bleachers.

The jeers stemmed from a general frustration about Oklahoma’s gradual decline. But in this particular case, they were mostly directed at one specific individual.

Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops.

But with his brother Bob, the head coach, standing by him despite heavy pressure from boosters to let him go, Mike Stoops weathered the low-point of his Oklahoma coaching career.
