STILLWATER, Okla. -- On a critical third-and-goal Saturday against West Virginia, Mason Rudolph faked the zone-read, then dashed over a defender into the end zone to give Oklahoma State a commanding 17-point lead.
Later, after the Mountaineers had rallied in the fourth quarter, Rudolph ignited the game-clinching touchdown drive by sliding past a pass-rusher, wheeling to his left and delivering a first-down strike on the run to Jalen McCleskey.
This season, Oklahoma State’s junior quarterback isn’t merely making plays with his arm from the pocket. Thanks in part to an offseason of focus and work with former Cowboy quarterback Zac Robinson, Rudolph has drastically improved his footwork, quickness, and mobility, which has transformed him into an even more difficult matchup for opposing defenses.
