Texas beats up on winless Kansas to get season back on track

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas got its season back on the right track by running past a winless Kansas team in the second half for a 59-20 win on Saturday night. What we learned:

What the win means for Texas: Texas found an antidote for its offensive struggles on Saturday night: Play Kansas. Jerrod Heard threw for 201 yards (a career high in Big 12 play) in three quarters of action and got plenty of help with 100-yard days from running back D'Onta Foreman and receiver John Burt. This was obviously a must-win for the 4-5 Longhorns and their hopes of going bowling, but to reach that goal they'll now have to pull off two wins from the three-game stretch of West Virginia, Texas Tech and Baylor.
