FORT WORTH, Texas -- As he left the locker room and headed for the car, TCU coach Gary Patterson pulled out his phone, eager to see for himself the high-five the college football world had been buzzing about.
“I keep telling you,” Patterson said, “just appreciate Trevone Boykin,” as if anyone at this point still needed reminding.
On one of his who-knows-how-many Heisman moments Thursday night, Boykin dashed and dodged his way past a series of oncoming West Virginia defenders, who wouldn’t have fared any better if the rules had been changed to two-hand touch.
