NORMAN, Okla. -- During a halftime discussion in the press box of the Cotton Bowl, the question of whether Samaje Perine had been injured came up.
Perine, of course, was perfectly healthy.
But the fact the inquiry had been broached was rather revealing.
Oklahoma’s preseason All-America running back didn’t touch the ball during the entire second quarter. And Perine would only carry it sparingly the rest of the way, as the Sooners fell stunningly to Texas, 24-17.
