Recently, Baylor wide receiver Lynx Hawthorne spoke to ESPN.com over the phone and candidly pulled back the curtain on his two-game adventure as an emergency quarterback to end last season:
So take me back to the Texas game. What do you remember about it?
Hawthorne: I had an eerie feeling before the game. It sounds crazy, because no one knew what was about to happen. But I had a weird feeling, like man, I hope I don't have to go in there at all. I was thinking, what if Chris [Johnson, Baylor's last healthy scholarship quarterback] gets his helmet knocked off.
