One week ago the narrative surrounding Baylor had a much different slant.
Nobody questioned if the Bears had been tested any longer. Baylor’s 44-34 loss to Oklahoma on Nov. 14 removed that question from the equation. Yet many still questioned if Baylor was legit.
Meanwhile, the College Football Playoff committee provided a different tale. The Bears' first loss of the season did not drop them out of the top 10; Baylor slid from No. 6 to No. 10. Some people may have written off Baylor's playoff hopes, but the committee wasn't among them.
“Even though they lost the game, they stood in there toe-to-toe with an Oklahoma team and played well,” committee chairman Jeff Long said.
