Oklahoma's Bob Stoops impressed with Baylor QB Jarrett Stidham

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said he came away impressed after studying Baylor true freshman quarterback Jarrett Stidham's first career start last week at Kansas State.

Replacing the injured Seth Russell, Stidham completed 23 of 33 passes for 419 yards, scored four total touchdowns and didn't commit a single turnover.

"Excellent," said Stoops, whose Sooners face Stidham in Waco this weekend. "The guy is completing 77 percent of his passes, and I thought he did a really good job just going to right guys."

Like virtually every other school in the area, Oklahoma scouted Stidham, who was one of the nation's top overall recruits coming out of Stephenville, Texas.
