Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich thriving in dream job

After calling plays for the top offense in Division II four years ago, Mike Yurcich had aspirations of furthering his career elsewhere. So the Shippensburg offensive coordinator applied for the head coaching job at West Virginia State.

Having coached Division II for nearly a decade, Yurcich had conceded that moving up to the FBS would remain a long shot. But he loved coaching. And even if it were at the lower levels, that’s what he would do.

"After about six years, I said, 'Screw it, I’ll coach Division II, be a coordinator, then a head coach, make a decent living and support my family,'" Yurcich said.
