Oklahoma State looks for right mix behind Mason Rudolph

Oklahoma State won’t duplicate the riches it enjoyed at the quarterback position a year ago.

The Cowboys had a sophomore starter who passed for more than 3,700 yards in Mason Rudolph and a backup senior quarterback with starting experience in J.W. Walsh, who could step in whenever needed or kick start Oklahoma State’s running game with his legs. And they did it with minimal angst between them, which may have been the biggest feat of all.

This season, Rudolph should be much improved, but Walsh’s departure leaves major holes in the offense with the Cowboys searching for a backup and a potential running threat from behind center.
