Kliff Kingsbury didn’t try on Monday to find something positive to discuss from Texas Tech’s latest loss.
Good thing, because it was the ultimate in ugly.
Iowa State beat the Red Raiders 66-10 Saturday in Ames, the unmistakable low point in Kingsbury’s tenure as head coach at Tech -- lower by a good margin than a 2014 defeat to TCU in which the Horned Frogs scored 82 points.
Low enough to wonder about the pace of progress at Tech under Kingsbury, who is in his fourth season. Or if there's progress at all.
“We knew they were better than their record indicated,” Kingsbury said of the Cyclones, who entered the game at 2-8.
