The University of Kansas landed one of the top recruits from the Class of 2015 on Friday, as guard Malik Newman officially announced his decision to transfer from Mississippi State to play for the Jayhawks.
According to ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman, Newman was recruited by Kansas out of high school, and he will join the elite program after a disappointing freshman season with the Bulldogs.
Following his announcement, Newman explained the reasoning behind transferring to Kansas, per Goodman: "I'm glad they wanted me again. I love the basketball culture at Kansas, the way [head coach] Bill Self holds guys accountable and love the atmosphere.
