Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads said Monday he reached out to the Big 12 office regarding what he considered a bad spot that derailed a key offensive drive late in the Cyclones' 35-31 loss to Oklahoma State this past Saturday.
Rhoads said Monday he's seeking more information from the Big 12 about a second-down play with under three minutes to go. Receiver Carson Epps appeared to make a 2-yard reception past the first-down marker, but he was only credited with a 1-yard gain.
Rhoads' staff, assuming it was first down, then called a pass play which was broken up.
